The Forbidden Fruit is an important but unidentified item from the Bible which is also known as the "Fruit of Knowledge" - it grew in the legendary Garden of Eden and although Adam and Eve were allowed free reign of Paradise God forbade them from eating this fruit.

Yet thanks to the Serpent (often seen as an aspect of Satan) Eve ate the fruit and later convinced Adam to do so as well, the result was what is referred to as the Fall of Man, where upon God banished Adam and Eve from Paradise and cused the Serpent to forever slither on its belly.

Some tales also clam that a piece of the Forbidden Fruit got stuck in Adam's throat and as part of his shame all male ancestors would have a piece of the fruit in their throat as well, hence the origin of the word "Adam's Apple".
